News from the Use of Facility Committee

May 25th, 2008 | By Douglas | Category: News and events

The Use of Facility committee held its second meeting on Sunday, June 22. Arrangements have been completed for two new groups to make use of our building. The P.S.A.L.M.S. choir, led by our own Stephen Strauss, will begin using the choir rehearsal room every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30PM beginning in September, and Heather McLennan, daughter of Carla, will be running a speech therapy programme for children aged 4 to 8 years in the choir rehearsal room weekday mornings throughout July from 8:30 to noon. We are still negotiating with several other groups and organizations who are interested in using our space. Planning is currently under way for the “Stealing Dan” cabaret . At this point it looks like this will be held in our upper parish hall late in November. The Committee meets again on Sunday, August 10 to continue planning this event. The Use of Facility Committee is also looking ahead to December 2008 when we hope to host, once again, the CBC sponsored reading of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” The Octoberfest Artsfest will be held in the same location during the second weekend of Octoberfest. On October 25 there will be an Organ/ Orchestra Concert and several other concerts throughout the year are also being planned. Watch for more news on this website.
