Rector’s Greeting

Welcome to the parish website of the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Kitchener, and thank you for taking the time to find out more about us.  Let me share some of our story.

For more than 150 years the congregation of the Church of St. John the Evangelist has provided a spiritual home for all those who are drawn to the worship and fellowship centered in the heart of the City of Kitchener.

We are a caring community that believes that the love of God works through all people. We are always happy to have people join us for worship, coffee/ tea and refreshments afterwards. We also encourage people to come along side with us on any venture that St John’s is sponsoring and are open to new ideas that you may have that we may be able to support and live out in the community.

Our community is centred in the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ; we offer healing time during our Sunday worship. In a world that is becoming more and more impersonal, we try at St. John’s to offer the personal touch of knowing people by name and getting to know newcomers.

We are a caring family that is interested in people’s lives, in their story and we are blessed to have so many generous people who are willing to offer their time, talent and treasures for the good of God’s work in the Kitchener area and in the wider world. We would love to hear your story and have you come along side us in this journey of faith. We respect that people have many ways of expressing their faith and we welcome them to come and try us out. Your first hand experience will enable you to see and hear our community for yourself.

I am a people person and love to meet people, so I look forward to hearing some of your story.

Yours in the ministry we share,

Perry Chuipka
