About

The parish of St. John the Evangelist, located in the downtown core of Kitchener, seeks to be a caring Christian community to those adversely affected during transitional and particularly stressful times. That care is expressed in many ways through the clergy and lay pastoral visitors.

The clergy are available for pastoral counselling and for spiritual direction. Appointments may be arranged through the church office. A Pastoral Care Visiting Team has been in place for a number of years, and has been trained to visit the ill and house-bound. They gather on a monthly basis for peer supervision and further training.

The St. John’s Cycle of Prayer upholds families and individuals in our prayers of intercession each Sunday and daily through the week at Morning Prayer in our Chapel. We encourage one another to continue this support in our personal prayers.

The parish exercises a long-standing ministry to a number of nursing and retirement homes, and chronic care facilities in the K-W area.

Further information about these services may be obtained from the church office, at 743-0228.
