Omas Siskona KW, the local Grandmothers to grandmothers group supporting the work of the Stephen Lewis Foundation in their work to stem the tide of AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa, is holding their annual fundraiser on Sunday, November 12, at Parkminster United Church on Erb Street in Waterloo (just before the Expressway). Doors open at 1 pm when you can shop for baking & preserves, crafts, gift baskets, used books and more, enjoy tea or coffee and goodies in the tea room, and then at 2 pm play a game of Scrabble or cards with friends. We invite players to register by calling Ann Coughlin (Ann Kelland) at 519 897 4479, and to ask friends and family for donations to support the cause. This is always a fun and energetic afternoon that finishes with refreshments and door prizes. All the money raised goes to grandmother-initiated projects in Africa and makes a very real difference to the lives of children orphaned by AIDS and those who care for them.
