St. John’s has hosted nearly 60 Japanese university students over the past two years for a program of English study and cultural exchange. We’ll have two more groups coming this winter:

1. February 8-March 1
2. March 3-15

We need families who can host one or two students for one or both sessions. Remuneration is provided. An ideal host family is one who will welcome their student as a family member, interact with them and include them in daily activities so they can truly learn what it means to be a part of a Canadian family. Students have class from 9-3 M-F and participate in various activities around town. Host families are asked to provide three meals a day (brown bag lunch on weekdays) and help with transportation to and from St. John’s. Hosting students has raised several thousand dollars through facility fees, so it’s another way to support our church! If you are interested in hosting a student or two, please contact Gary French.
