On Sunday, April 3, Simon Guthrie, a member of St John’s, will undertake a 12 hour bicycle ride to raise funds for the transportation needs of Syrian refugee families.

Simon will start at 12:01 am and ride until noon on a stationary bicycle in the upper parish hall. He will finish shortly after the 10 am service that Sunday. Simon hopes to raise $7000, the cost of bus passes for one year for two refugee families.

This is a Deanery of Waterloo challenge. We are asking all local Anglican churches and others to support the ride.

You may support Simon by donating cash or a cheque payable to St John’s, designating the donation for Simon’s Ride for Refugees. Place your donation in an offering plate. Tax receipts will be issued by St. John’s. Alternatively, you can support Simon by make a pledge using the pledge form available in the Narthex.

Let’s all Support Simon
